Weals & Woes

Weals & Woes are audience-purchased twists that let you directly influence the story as it unfolds—granting heroes a sudden advantage (weal) or throwing a new complication in their path (woe). Every purchase fuels the fundraiser and shapes the fate of the table in real time.

Weals

Weals are audience-purchased boons that tip the scales in the heroes’ favor—granting timely advantages, lucky breaks, or unexpected support. Each Weal strengthens the party and supports the mission behind the fundraiser.

Level 1 - $5

Providence Smiles

Paranoia decreases by 1.

Level 2 - $10

A Moment's Respite

One PC gets the benefit of a short rest.

Level 3 - $15

Surgeon's Satchel

Receive 2 random potions of any rarity (yes, even legendary). Potion effects last for 1 hour of real time.

Level 4 - $20

Arcane Requisition

Receive 2 random spell scrolls of levels 2–6

Level 5 - $25

Relic of the Cause

Gain a special homebrew item of the DM’s choice. 

Level 6 - $30

Shared Resolve

For 1 hour of real time, once per turn, each PC may add 1d4 to any d20 roll.

Level 7 - $40

Artifact of War

Choose one of the following Very Rare items. You are automatically attuned to it.

Animated Shield Belt of Hill Giant Strength | Dancing Sword | Energy Bow | Hat of Many Spells Ioun Stone (+1 to one stat) |

Quarter Staff of the Acrobat Robe of Stars | Staff of Power | Thunderous Greatclub

Level 8 - $50

Mercy of the Long Night

The party gains the benefit of a long rest.

Level 9 -

Relic of Destiny

Choose one of the following Legendary items. You are automatically attuned to it.

Manifest Providence

Choose one of the following creatures. It is your ally and obeys your commands to the best of its ability.

Bonus 1 - $5

Purchased Vote

Gain one additional vote during a quarantine vote. Votes stack.

Bonus 2 - $20

Forced Vote

Immediately trigger a quarantine vote, even if one would not normally occur. This can interrupt scenes.

Woes

Woes are audience-purchased twists that complicate the heroes’ journey—introducing setbacks, surprises, or new obstacles at the worst possible moment. Each Woe raises the stakes at the table while helping power the fundraiser’s impact.

Level 1 - $5

Whispers of Doubt

Increase paranoia by 1.

Level 2 - $10

Shadows in the Snow

Trigger a wandering encounter that the PCs must deal with.

Level 3 - $15

Banked Malice

The hidden threat stores 1 charge of power. It may use these to: 

Regain 1 Legendary Resistance OR Recharge one major monster ability (GM choice). 

Charges stack. 

Level 4 - $20

Lingering affliction

One PC gains a random condition for the rest of the session. (Removable by lesser or greater restoration.)

Level 5 - $25

Sapping Cold

One PC gains 1 level of Exhaustion (no save).  A PC cannot be raised above Exhaustion 5 by this effect.

Level 6 - $30

Creeping Dread

For 1 hour of real time, all PCs suffer –1d4 to all d20 tests.

Level 7 - $40

Hardened form

The hidden threat gains +4 AC and immunity to critical hits until the end of the session.

Level 8 - $50

Unnatural Renewal

When the final confrontation begins, the hidden threat: recharges all used abilities AND gains 100 temporary HP.

Level 9 - $100

Relic of the Night

The hidden threat gains one Legendary item.

Level 10 - $200

Rift of Nightmares

 The hidden threat summons a monstrous ally that fights for it for10 minutes of real time (or until destroyed).
